The Canberra Pie Cart event has now been rescheduled for Friday 4 December, 1 - 2pm.
Come along a little earlier and claim your FREE delicious hot pie at the CMAG cafe from 12.30pm onwards,view the fully restored 1939 Chevrolet on display in Civic Square and then join us for a talk between 1 - 2pm. Our guest speakers will share stories about the fascinating history of the Canberra Pie Cart and the recent restoration project.
This event is in association with the Sign of the Times exhibition.

Delicious pies! Cold Drinks! Tasty treats! Come and view Canberra’s original Pie Cart – now fully restored – and hear about its amazing history as you enjoy snacks in the sunshine.
The Canberra Pie Cart is a 1939 Chevrolet van that was used from the 1940s to the 1970s to service local Government Departments and weekend football matches. A restoration of the vehicle was recently undertaken with the assistance of students from Copeland College Melba, Shannons Insurance and the ACT Government Heritage Grants Scheme.
Join Senior Social History Curator, Sharon Bulkeley in conversation with members of the Council of ACT Motor Clubs, Graham Gittins, Brian Wells and Peter Atkinson as they share stories of the Pie Cart’s travels and restoration from 1–2pm.
