Kids can unleash their creativity in a unique hands-on experience these school holidays in a Cyanotype workshop, presented in partnership between PhotoAccess and Canberra Museum and Gallery. Join us for an exciting two-hour journey into alternative photography and learn the captivating art of cyanotype printing.

Guided by a skilled instructor from PhotoAccess, participants will discover the secrets of this historic photographic technique that dates to the 19th century. Using the power of sunlight, kids will experiment with light-sensitive chemicals on special paper to create stunning blue and white prints. They'll have the chance to make their masterpieces using found objects, leaves, and other materials to craft intricate designs.

As young artists delve into the captivating process of cyanotype, they'll learn about the science behind photography and develop an appreciation for the intersection of art and science. This workshop encourages children to think creatively, explore their imaginations, and produce one-of-a-kind artworks that showcase their newfound skills.

No prior experience is necessary – just a willingness to discover and create! Suitable for children 8 - 12 years of age.
