Matthew Harding

Dialogue

2001

Two seater chair made of hoop pine and upholstery that folds down to a flat square. Harding has used computer technology to create a geometrically precise design where repetitious elements create a range of optical illusions. Minimal material wastage has been achieved through the technology (specifically the laser cutter) employed by Harding. This work is able to seat two encouraging a 'dialogue' between the occupants.
