Have fun with free children’s activities at the Canberra Museum + Gallery and celebrate Canberra’s cultural diversity.

We’re creating a Family Sanctuary - a welcoming, relaxing space where families can escape the hustle and bustle of the festival while enjoying creative craft, music activities and face-painting. You can also explore our exhibitions and take a break at the CMAG Cafe. Visit us from 10:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th February 2025 during the National Multicultural Festival 2025.

🎨 Drop-in craft activities

CMAG Studio
Celebrate culture by weaving your cultural colours at CMAG. In the studio little ones can cut an animal shape to weave inside, older children can select from colourful materials and create a lively work of art. Create a colourful yarn friendship bracelet in the foyer to gift or to keep or splash some paint around to create a colourful work, in the courtyard.

CMAG Theatrette
Join the Canberra Symphony Orchestra for a family friendly concert especially designed for our youngest Canberrans. The concerts are perfect for all, including first-time concertgoers creating a chance to learn, sing and dance with the musicians.

12:10pm - 1:10pm
CMAG Theatrette
Come and try all the instruments of the orchestra with musician helpers on hand. Play a violin, a trumpet, a flute- we will have a huge range of options for all ages to have a go!

Need a calm space? Our boardroom will be available as a designated breastfeeding and relaxation area, offering comfort for parents and bubs looking to take a break from the festivities.
