CMAG joins the celebration of Canberra’s and our nation’s cultural diversity by providing a Children’s Sanctuary on the Saturday and Sunday of the Festival. Our program provides some respite from the heat, noise and activity of the festival while having some fun with creative and engaging activities.
All activities are free.
Portrait Printmaking Workshop 👩🎨
What is a Canberran? Celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity and create a portrait of a loved one or a self-portrait using printmaking techniques in our CMAG studio! Interactive fun for all ages.
40 minute workshops on the hour starting at 10.00am. Final workshop at 3.00pm. Limited places available.

What do you love about Canberra? Join us in the CMAG courtyard for a drop-in painting activity celebrating the Nation’s Capital. Easels, paints and paper provided.

CSO Family Concerts and instrument petting zoo 🎻
Join the Canberra Symphony Orchestra for a family friendly concert especially designed for our youngest Canberrans with flexible seating and a format that encourages interaction. The concerts are perfect for all, including first-time concertgoers creating a chance to learn, sing and dance with the musicians. There will be a chance for kids to play instruments of the orchestra at the petting zoo after the performance.
Concerts will be held at 10.15am, 11.30am, 1.15pm and 2.30pm. Concerts, except for the 2.30pm concert, followed by instrument petting zoo.

Available in the side areas of CMAG’s entry space on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during festival hours. Free, no bookings required. No security provided.
