Canberra Museum + Gallery presents Resonant Spaces—a solo piano concert series featuring ARIA Award-winning artists. On 28 March 2025, David Bridie takes the stage for an evening of evocative music set in response to Sidney Nolan’s artworks and bold reimaginings of history and mythology.
Bridie—renowned as a founding member of Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend the Chocolate Cake—crafts atmospheric soundscapes that echo Nolan’s visual art. His compositions, deeply connected to the Australian landscape, provide a stirring counterpart to the visual narratives within the gallery space.
Following the performance, Bridie will join curator Ross Heathcote in a discussion about his creative response to Nolan’s art.
Resonant Spaces continues on 4 April 2025 with an appearance by ARIA Award–winning pianist Sophie Hutchings.
Tickets are on sale now, with discounted pricing available for those booking both concerts.
