Djara presents the connections of First Nations people with the stars, sky and Country.
For thousands of years First Nations people have used stars to navigate Country, for ceremony and to track seasons. These knowledges have been passed from generation to generation through storytelling, dance and song.
Djara brings together leading artists, traditional custodians and astrophysicists to provide an immersive audio-visual experience by Ngunnawal/Wiradjuri/ Kamilaroi artist Lynnice Letty Church, Ngunawal artists Jazz and Kristal Matthews, Ngunawal Storyteller Jai Bell, and Gamilaraay/ Yuwaalaraay astrophysicist Peter Swanton. In collaboration with Canberra Museum and Gallery, Questacon and ANU.
