Cnr London Circuit and City Square, Canberra City
Open today from 12pm to 4pm
Tom Moore’s Abundant Wonder is part of the JamFactory’s Icon exhibition series and celebrates the achievements of South Australia’s most influential artists working in craft-based media. Born in Canberra and currently based in Adelaide, Tom Moore is one of Australia's leading glass artists and over the course of his career has carved out a singular voice in Australian glass art making.
Working in the ancient craft of blown glass, Moore is a rigorous and technically masterful glass blower whose images and narratives are distinctly contemporary. Moore's hybrid creatures of part animal, vegetable, mineral and personal such as ‘plantbirds’ and ‘photofishcars’ critique the current human condition and the impact humans have wrought on our environment. The exhibition enlivened with animations and soundtracks by Jonathan Nix.
JamFactory Icon Tom Moore: Abundant Wonder is a JamFactory touring exhibition. Supported by funding from the Australian Government’s Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications through Visions of Australia.
Tom Moore acknowledges the assistance of the Australian Government through the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
