CMAG serves a unique role as a place to experience the diverse history and contemporary culture of the Canberra region; and through this to gain a deeper understanding of Australia’s dynamic culture in its global setting.

CMAG is part of The Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC), an ACT Government enterprise established under the Cultural Facilities Corporation Act 1997, to manage: the Canberra Theatre Centre; the Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) including the Nolan Collection Gallery @ CMAG; and the ACT Historic Places.
